Lake Mburo National Park Uganda Wildlife Tour.
Lake Mburo national park is located in western Uganda in Mbarara district covering an area of 260 sq km and is ranked as the best place in the country to see the Elands antelopes, as well as zebras, topis, impalas, and several acacia-associated birds. Lake Mburo National park has got an extension of the Serengeti plains of Tanzania. Inside the park harbors, there are several markedly different faunal species which cannot be easily found elsewhere in Uganda. The beautiful Mburo Park provides a varied mosaic of habitat with gallery forest, rich acacia valleys, and seasonal and permanent swamp to support this wealth of bird wildlife.
The park has got several animals’ unique species such as zebras, common duikers, Impalas, Bohor reedbucks, Buffaloes, and birds. Lake Mburo has been recorded as the only place in Uganda where you can see the gigantic elands antelopes and Impalas.
Over 300 bird species have been recorded in this park, such species include; White-winged Warblers, Black-billed Barbet, Crested Francolin, Brown Parrot, Red-necked Spur, Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, Temminck’s Courser, common Quails, Greenwood Hoopoe, Blue-napped Mousebird, Barefaced Go-away bird, African-Grey Hornbill, Nubian Woodpecker, Trilling Cisticola, Lilac-breasted Roller, Coqui Francolin, Red-necked spurfowl, Black-Bellied Bustard, African-wattled Plover Rufous napped and Flappet larks, Rufous chested Swallow, Southern Red Bishop, and Yellow-throated Longclaw and the rare Shoebill stork. The fringing swamps in the park also hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the red, black and yellow papyrus Gonolek.

Activities Game Viewing Over 68 species of animals in lake Mburo provide an opportunity for game drive for wildlife viewing which includes Zebras, Impalas, Buffaloes, Topi, and Elands as herbivores not to leave out the rare slightly of Roan antelopes and leopards, Hyenas and jackals as a predictor. Boat cruise on the Lake gives you a rich view of animals and plants which can only be viewed clearly if you take a boat trip. The crocodiles, hippopotamuses, and birds like Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, if you lucky Shoebill Stork will be sighted.
